About Eroding Edges
Earth’s climate is changing at a rate that has far exceeded most scientific forecasts. Based on NASA sea-level rise projections, between 4 and 13 million Americans will be displaced from their homes by the end of this century. Globally, nearly a billion people are threatened. For some, the impacts of a warming world are already underway.
Eroding Edges is a four-part documentary series that explores the changing lives and identities of America’s coastal communities. The project is driven by narratives that simultaneously bear witness to the unprecedented loss of hundreds of years of place-based tradition, while, at the same time, highlight the courage and leadership required to champion local solutions for a brighter, more resilient future.
